Acne was my nightmare. I suffered from it throughout my teenage years. I was insecure, I felt hopeless, I envied people with clear skin. I felt like I had no future, like nothing could be done about my ugly face. I didn’t dare to date, and I was mocked throughout my high school years. I tried everything: I visited dermatologists, I used cosmetic products, I ate healthy, I cut out spicy food, limited my sugar and gluten intake, I slept early, and nothing changed. My face was constantly breaking out with inflamed acne. I remember one time I counted them, and I had around 20 of them on my face. I was devastated. I cried out loud with my mom and told her I just wanted to die because I was so ugly. My mom freaked out, and she brought me to every doctor and clinic she knew, hoping they could treat my skin problem. Sadly, nothing worked. I lived with acne for 12 years, throughout my adolescence. Only after the age of 25 did I encounter a turning point in my life, where everything started to get better, including my skin and my confidence.

Talking about acne, I know this pain by heart. It’s so deeply rooted in me; it affected every aspect of my life, and it changed me. The journey of curing acne is the journey of finding my true self: who I am, what I want, and what my purpose is in this lifetime. Acne taught me to love myself, taught me to trust myself, and it gave me the wisdom that later, I can pass on to others.

Acne is a form of stuck energy

I’m an energy girl. A person who always talks about how everything on Earth is connected, and I reduce everything to the energy form. I don’t know if we have a word to define this type of person, so I call myself “the energy girl”. Our body is an energy field, with the life force constantly moving in and out. When we’re in balance, which means whatever we absorb, we can digest and release it. The energy we receive could be in any form, such as food, feelings, emotions, thoughts, opinions, wisdom, knowledge, air, or atmosphere. When the input and output are in balance, our body is in its best condition. We’re healthy, happy, and radiant from the inside out.

However, not everyone is blessed with good genes, or in this situation, I might say good karma. When you take in more than what you can digest and release, the energy gets stuck. After a long time, it has nowhere to go, so it leaks through your pores. This is acne. It’s your stuck energy. It might originate from what you ate, but it could also come from what you saw, heard, smelled, sensed, and experienced.

One thing to clarify: not everyone has the same issue with stuck energy. Depending on their karma, that stuck energy leaks or blocks a different part of their body. Some people have to deal with bad skin; others might get stomach, kidney, brain, or heart problems. When the energy has nowhere to go, it gets crammed in your body like a balloon filled with water. It gets bigger until it can’t hold the water anymore. Any physical illness is caused by stuck energy, including obesity.

Why You Can’t Lose Weight: The Hidden Energy Behind Overeating

People think acne comes from our eating habits and our level of stress. But stress is about stuck energy as well. You have unresolved thoughts and emotions; it leads to overthinking and depression. The cause of acne could be something irrelevant: a dream you don’t dare to chase, an unsaid goodbye, an explanation you never had a chance to say, a trauma haunting you from childhood, a deepest desire you don’t tell anyone, a feeling of shame, guilt, or embarrassment you experienced a long time ago. Anything that gets stuck in your mind is the reason behind your acne-prone skin.

Any type of addiction to drugs, alcohol, and food is not the real cause of acne; it’s the manifestation of the same source: your stuck energy. Being stuck means it can only go around inside you. It pops up in your mind once in a while, to the point of obsession. This is unhealthy; you are having a problem now. Each person is different. You see your family as a mess, you want to get rich as quickly as possible, you wonder why no one loves you, you think you’re a loser, you hate this society, you’re jealous of someone, you name it. Any one of those listed above can easily lead you to drugs, food, and alcohol. It’s a form of escapism. Acne is on the same level as these problems; none of them cause another. They go hand in hand as a result of stuck energy.

Similarly, insomnia is caused by the same reason. When you have unsolved thoughts and emotions, you usually think about them day and night, especially before sleep. Your mind can’t seem to rest; it’s hyperactive, pulling you in every direction, when sleeping means it must stay still. Being awake at night is not the cause of your skill issue; it’s the same outcome of something much deeper: your unresolved energies and problems.

This explain why with some people, and in my situation, nothing work. I could fix my sleeping schedule, my eating habit and using all the expensive products, but if i don’t face my biggest trigger, nothing change. In my case, I had to pull myself together and chase my dream of being an author. Only then, I slowly release that stuck dream, aka my stuck energy, and my skin started getting better.

People with acne have many things to offer. They are passionate, they have big dream, and they have power to achieve big things in life.

When you have acne prone skin, which means you have a huge amount of energy within yourself. Although these energy is unsolved, they contain the potential of your gift and talents. Anything getting stuck in your mind is a lesson, more acne means more lesson. So if you’re suffering from this skin disease, know that there is something inside you want to get out. These people is passionate, they have big dream, they have potential to achieve big thing in life. But they don’t know how to express their inner world, they don’t know how to release the stuck energy, they don’t know how to face their deepest fear and challenge.

How to cure your acne-prone skin?

In order to cure your acne, you have to release your stuck energy. It sounds simple, but it’s easier said than done. I have put together a list of things you can do. You could try all of them, or you can just choose one or two points that resonate with you. It’s your choice.

1. Facing your biggest fear/trigger/dream/desire

This was my situation. I didn’t believe in myself before. I thought I could never achieve my dream without the help of other people. For such a long time, I tried to find a person who trusted me, who saw my talent and my potential, so that they could invest in me. But I didn’t realize that if I didn’t trust myself, no one would.

By trying to find others to support me, I sent out the message that I wasn’t capable. As a result, I was stuck in a miserable life, hoping a miracle would show up overnight and bring me out of that hell hole. But nothing happened. Then I had an awakening moment. I just realized no one was going to appear and save me. I had to save myself. I had to start where I was and do everything within my ability.

Facing that truth was horrifying because, for a long time, I had looked down on myself so much. I couldn’t believe I could build my dream from where I was. However, I had no choice. I kept going with whatever I had in my hands. This was the turning point.

By doing my job, starting my YouTube channel, and learning new things, I poked a hole for the stuck energy to get out. At first, the hole was small because I spent little time doing the work. But as time went by, I became more and more engaged with the process. I fell in love with building the life I wanted. The amount of time and effort I put in just created a bigger outlet for my stuck energy. Until all of it got out, I saw no sign of acne on my face.

This process was also about facing my biggest fear. For such a long time, I was heavily insecure about my face. I wore a mask all the time, I didn’t make friends, I didn’t dare look in the mirror or look at people when I talked to them. I thought when I became prettier, I would start my YouTube channel. I waited for my acne to disappear so that I could start living a happy life and strive for my dream. But the acne never went away, so I had to face my own insecurity.

In the end, I was like, “Fuck it.” I could never get rid of acne, so instead of waiting forever, I would start my own channel even if I was ugly. It was a huge decision, as I faced my fear of being judged by people for my appearance.

So what is your deepest fear or desire? What haunts you the most? What is your obsession? Are you afraid of being poor, or of being alone for the rest of your life? If there is something that constantly crosses your mind, this is the time to face it. You need to take action instead of sitting still, because doing nothing only makes the situation worse. Each time the thought and trigger show up, it gets bigger. It will want to get out with stronger energy, which worsens your skin situation. By facing that fear and taking action, you poke a hole for that stuck energy to get out. This will slowly cure your skin without you noticing, because you focus too much on the process of manifesting your vision.

Stop Living in Waiting Mode

2. Move your body

Your body is the transition from your inner world to the physical world. By moving your body and pushing yourself to your limit in a healthy way, you release the stuck energy. Wherever the mind goes, the energy flows. In daily life, we get used to normal gestures, so movement becomes our instinct. We don’t need to put our mind and attention on it anymore. But if you exercise or introduce a new sport into your life, you challenge your body in a new way. Each time you practice a new position, you have to be mindful, and in that state, the stuck energy gets out.

The interesting aspect of sports and exercise is that we don’t know which kind of energy is getting out, and we don’t know which aspect of our lives is being solved by that. But you definitely change. The more sports you play, the more workouts you practice, and the more positions you explore, the more stuck energy is being released. This is why yoga is one of the best exercises you can try that can improve your life significantly. You push your own limits, challenge yourself with difficult positions, stretch your body in many directions, therefore leaving space for a lot of energy to get out.

Many people start their level-up journey by moving their bodies. Just activating a new muscle, you poke a hole for energy to get out. If you feel stuck, unmotivated, and struggle with acne, moving your body is one of the ways you could try to improve your life. However, this is not a 100% result, as I’ve met people with shredded bodies who still suffer from acne problems.

Like I said before, with exercise, you don’t know which stuck energy is getting out, so it’s kind of random. Compared with the first method, where you target the biggest problem and solve it directly, this second one is more like a supporting approach you can do along with the first one.

3. Learning new skills

Similar to exercising, learning a new skill also activates new muscles in your body. Many hobbies require your hands to stretch into new positions, like playing musical instruments, clay work, sculpture, DIY stuff. Others affect your brain muscles, which also deliver the same outcome as physical muscles. When you learn anything new, you open a space for stuck energy to get out.

If it’s more random with physical activities, learning a skill could target something you consciously know. For example, with languages, it might be our fear of looking like a fool when we speak badly. Piano focuses on our patience and consistency. Tarot and astrology are about trusting your intuition. Each activity targets different stuck energy when you consciously do it.

4. Balancing input and output

Besides blockage, where the stuck energy can’t get out, there is also a problem when you take in too much and you can’t release it fast enough. Imagine when all the vehicles on an 8-lane highway want to enter a 2-lane city road. There is definitely slow movement or a traffic jam around that point. It’s the same with too much energy pouring into your body when you can’t find a good outlet to eliminate it. It gets stuck inside you, causing acne, weight gain, and any other illness depending on where it’s blocked.

Just like the way to maintain your weight is calories in equal calories burned, you have to do the same with energy. However, each type of input is different in the way you release it. With food, your body has a natural way of burning and excreting it. If it’s not enough, you have to move your body, work out harder, make yourself active, or even get liposuction. This is an outlet for your energy to come out.

Information is something we’re overwhelmed with in this modern day. We see it everywhere. We absorb information consciously through the news we watch daily, the social media we scroll through, the YouTube videos we watch, and the books we read. We also receive unconscious information when we come across a billboard, an advertisement on TV, a banner, or a sign.

When too many words are crammed into your brain, you get overthinking, a short attention span, and bad memory. In order to release this energy, you have to digest it and let it out. For example, you watch a YouTube video or read a good book, and you learn something new. But if you don’t use that knowledge and apply it to your reality, the wisdom gets stuck inside you. By taking action and applying the advice from the book, you give it an outlet to get out.

You can also talk about that knowledge with others. Saying it out loud is a good way to release energy. If no one around you is interested in the same topic, start a YouTube channel, begin blogging, and talk about what you know and what you like. These platforms are good outlets for you to get the knowledge out. The likes and subscribers don’t matter. You do it for yourself. If you have an audience, nice. If not, it’s totally fine.

Emotions are the same as information. They are not something physical, so you have to let them out by talking about them or expressing them in a creative way. Sharing your feelings with trusted friends is a way to balance your energy field. They might not be able to help you solve your problems, but just by listening to you, they offer a space for your emotions to safely come out.

Journaling is a good way to balance your mood. By writing them down, you see them clearly, and a part of the stuck energy is released. The best way to work with emotions and feelings, in my opinion, is art. If information and knowledge can be easily expressed with words, through talking and writing, emotions are more abstract, and art is the closest form to this energy.

If you can’t say it out loud, you should paint it, play it, sing it. Any type of art is the best outlet for your inner world. If you do it right, your energy can always stay in balance. This is the best form of regulating your energy field: creating.

5. Stop absorbing negative energy

No matter how much effort you put into releasing energy, if you don’t stop absorbing what is useless, you still waste your time and power on something unnecessary. It’s easier to be careful about what you receive than to detox it later when you don’t even know what it is or where to start.

Healthy energy is light. Your body can digest it and release it without any problem. Negative energy is heavy and dense, so you need more time and power to get rid of it. Make sure you reduce your negative energy intake, such as junk food, gossiping, drama, or anything that brings you pessimistic feelings.

This approach takes time to master. You need to listen to your body: how it feels after each food, each interaction, and each situation. If you feel calm, happy, and energetic, you should come back again. But if you feel tired, drained, or hate yourself after eating something, listening to the news, or talking to a certain type of person, then you should take a step away from them. Those are negative energies that later you have to release. So if you have a chance, do not engage in these situations in the first place. Being strict about what you let into your life means you don’t have to worry about cleaning the garbage later..

6. Say what you mean

A lot of the time, stuck energy exists because we hold back what was meant to be said. If something bothers you so much, you should say it out loud instead of keeping silent. This is hard work because it’s not simply about saying what you like or dislike. In many cases, our brain tries to make sense of the situation and convinces us to do something against our truest will. If you feel even a little bit of doubt, it’s time to reconsider the decision.

Saying what you mean is a way of reducing negative energy. You set a standard for what and who can enter your life. Also, by saying it out loud, you release it right at the moment it is raised, so the energy can’t get stuck in your body.

I wrote a post about saying what you mean and how it helps you reduce a lot of trouble. You can check it out.

Say What You Want, Save Yourself a Lot of Trouble

7. Meditation

The last method I want to mention is meditation. When you’re in a meditative state, you explore new corners of your mind. Any thoughts and emotions that rise during a session mean you have a chance to release them.

Instead of chasing those thoughts and trying to explain them, you can just let them be. The thoughts and emotions are the clouds floating around. They are not you, and they are not real. Your mind is the sky: big, vast, and containing all the clouds. You’re that sky. Do not mistake yourself for the cloud that comes and goes.

When you encounter an unpleasant image or memory, just let it go. Don’t be bothered by it. Just stay still and observe any sensations that come up. You can feel sadness, bitterness, anger, shame, and guilt, but remember they are the clouds. They are not real. You experience them all. You watch your emotions, and you feel them fully. By being aware of whatever happens in your body and your mind, you give the stuck energy a chance to get out. This time, you don’t need art. Your body is the outlet. You fully feel the emotions, and you let them be. When stuck energy is fully felt and experienced, it naturally dissolves. This practice could take time because the same image and memory will come back and trigger you again. But each time it shows up, you release a bit more, until it no longer has power over you.

Meditation can work with any type of trauma and stuck energy. You can just observe and feel it fully. You let yourself be an outlet, and that energy will be released. The more you sit with yourself, the more darkness you explore, the more light you shed on your life.

Meditation can be your daily cleaning ritual. You take time to look at your mind, see what still works for you and what doesn’t, and throw away what is useless. The clarity of mind leads to clarity of life, and clear skin is a byproduct. If your mind is calm, at peace, and still, your skin will definitely be in good condition. I’m sure about it.

How to treat acne scars?

Unlike acne, where I went through the whole journey, had the lessons for myself, and I’m sure about what I said, I wholeheartedly believe in the “stuck energy theory.” Yet with acne scars, I’m still figuring it out. After a long period of fighting and making peace with acne, I have relatively bad scars on my face. I can probably cover them all with heavy makeup, but my bare face shows how unwell my skin was before.

At this moment, I’m living and acting based on what I believe, and I’m sharing it here in case anyone wonders. You can trust my words or not, because I’m not sure it will work. I haven’t gone through the whole journey and come out on the other side, where I have perfect baby skin. This is my theory, and I’m practicing it now.

You have acne because of stuck energy. It means there is something in your life you haven’t accepted. Acne is a problem in your reality. When you don’t let everything in your life flow naturally, you deny something, and it creates a blockage in your body. Curing acne means making peace with your reality.

However, scars are proof of the past. They show that you suffered something bad before, and made wrong decisions (by squeezing the pimples). Having acne scars can be a symbol that you weren’t living a good life. You’ve changed now, but your past still shows. In order to treat the scars, you have to re-write your past.

I know this sounds crazy, but bear with me. Usually, people with acne suffer from a bad mentality, and your mind determines your reality. Ugly thoughts manifest as ugly actions, and it leads to wrongdoing. We all make mistakes in our lives; it’s normal. But it seems like people with acne-prone skin have a different kind of karma, so it shows on their face. Everyone can tell that something is wrong with them and with their life. Scars are proof of your mistakes in the past, but what if I tell you we can change our story.

We perceive time as linear. We only have the information up to that moment; the future is hidden from us, so we come to a conclusion about a situation with everything we know at that time. But when life unfolds, we are provided with more knowledge, and it can turn the story in your past into something completely different.

For example, when you got fired from a company, you thought it was a disaster and you blamed yourself for not doing well enough. Then after that, you started following your passion, and it turned out to be a successful career. Later in life, you see the event when you got fired as a blessing, and doing that job mediocrely was actually the right way. This can happen with anything in your life, any mistake you’ve made, anything you regret doing.

You can rewrite your past by changing your behaviour and living a life with morals. Do not give up on your dream. Keep going, and you will understand that everything happens for a reason. You had to hurt that person so that both of you could learn the lesson and become who you are now. You needed to make that mistake so you could stand up from where you fell and build a bigger vision for yourself. Whatever you thought you did wrong before, you now have all the tools and power to rewrite it, to compensate for what you have done. When you look at your past and you don’t see it as a mistake anymore, it’s the moment your acne scars disappear.

I’m not sure if this makes sense to you. I hope it does, but this is what I believe and follow now. I will update when I get rid of the scars. At the moment, I see them as not as intense as before. Let time answer this question, and let’s see if we can truly rewrite our past with our pure intention.
